Yep. That can be a problem. I solve it by placing a link to the sign-in page on my blog. It is a bit like "I know an old lady who swallowed a fly . . ." One problem leads to another -- all problems cause more of a distraction than they are worth.
If removing the navbar is not an issue in your school, I wouldn't bother. I only do it when I know questions might arise from teachers or parents.
